We weren’t invited
We Weren’t Invited, a dynamic 5-piece alternative hardcore band hailing from the heart of Chicago. Defined by their genre-defying musical landscapes and explosive live performances, this band has carved a niche for themselves with passionate vocal delivery and a riff-heavy, dystopian backdrop that guarantees an intensely cathartic musical experience.
Formed in the early months of 2021, We Weren’t Invited quickly established their presence, amassing a devoted following drawn to their impressive musical prowess and ambitious endeavors in the DIY live music scene. From unconventional venues like skateparks to abandoned churches, they bring a one-of-a-kind energy to every performance.
In March 2024, the band released their highly anticipated Kill Joy EP, celebrating with a sold-out release show at Thalia Hall, one of Chicago’s most iconic venues. Following this success, they embarked on an East Coast tour in July 2024, bringing their high-octane performances to new audiences. After returning home, they played an official Lollapalooza Aftershow, which also sold out, further establishing their rising profile in the music scene.
We Weren’t Invited was also part of Metallica’s Chicago Weekend Takeover, performing at the legendary House of Blues. They’ve shared the stage with some of the biggest names in hardcore, including opening for Norma Jean at Bottom Lounge.
With a string of new music releases, We Weren’t Invited continues to push their creative boundaries. Stay tuned for their upcoming full-length album, expected to drop in 2026. The band’s relentless drive to create and perform guarantees that they will continue to leave an indelible mark on the alternative hardcore scene.
